Do you know me?
My daughter and I were relocated after Hurricane Katrina destroyed our home in Louisiana. I am thankful from the support I received from FEMA and was able to start a new life here in Fairfax County. I got a good job and my daughter was attending elementary school in a county known nationwide for its great public education system. I was so thankful for this second chance. A few years ago, I was in a terrible car accident and endured a severe brain injury. I was in the hospital for an extended period of time and was not able to fulfill the requirement of my job upon my release from the hospital. Due to my disability, I have not obtained sustainable employment. Once again, my daughter and I are homeless.
