Do you know me?
I am a veteran and a single mom with two children. Before my tour in Afghanistan my husband and I were both in the military but after a divorce and an honorable discharge from the military I was unable to continue to afford housing for my children and me. Balancing work, home and care of my two children became harder and harder. The rent, utility bills and food cost was more than I could manage. My children and I were living pay check to pay check and then I was out of work and living on unemployment. I went into a financial spiral and could not get back on track and became homeless.
