Do you know me?
I am a 67 year old Army Veteran who served in Viet Nam. While I was over there, I saw all types of inhuman treatment that one person can do to another. Some of the time it was even one soldier on another soldier. I was told that when I got back, things would be better. But, it wasn’t. I couldn’t sleep at night because of all the nightmares; I couldn’t hold a job because I couldn’t concentrate; I couldn’t pay my bills because I couldn’t hold down a job; and I couldn’t get a military doctor to help me with medications or therapy for my problems. I lost my apartment, my car, my self-respect, and my desire to even do daily hygiene. I live on the streets and in the parks when the police don’t tell me to move on. I want to get better, live better, and, maybe help others like me; but, I don’t know how to start.
